Daily about volunteer

The last week, it was my first time to attend the community service as a volunteer. I was very surprising when I know we will go to do the volunteerism as a student. All the things were very strange to me. At nine o’clock in the morning, the whole team went to the gym to take the clothes. Everyone has a cloth that showed you are the volunteer. Then we took the bus to the place which we would work. Our class’s mission is to pick up trash. It was very easy to do. After we had picked up trash, there would be a clean environment. I realized the work which we should do is very simple, only need to pick up the trash. It’s much easier than other classes. But in nature we did the same things, all of these were good for our living environment. It would make us live more comfortable and less pollution, it worth us to do that. So I think we should care more about our environment to let us have a beautiful earth to live. I would like to volunteer to do community again, it is really meaningful for our environment. On the whole, this activity lets me know the volunteer’s work is important for the society and also benefits to ourselves. In the future, I think I will volunteer to do community service more than before. To make the society become better and better, and the work also will make me feel happy.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

'The immigration 30 days' show us the problem in the illegal immigration. It affects the life about the illegal immigrants. Frank George who is a ‘the Minutemen’ walk into the Gonzalez family’s life, the family came from the Mexico twelve years ago. Their two children were born in America but the other members of the family are still illegal immigrants. They still don’t have the paper. Frank George came to America when he was seven years old with his parents. They are legal immigrants. Now he attends ‘the Minutemen’ to against the illegal immigration. The show let him live with the Gonzalez family to feel the illegal immigrants’ life.


For my opinion, I have the same idea with the Frank George. I think the illegal immigration is a big problem to a country. They have no paper, they can’t have job, they just can do some bad things like be a robber, thief, even the murder. Just for them to keep living. Or they have no source of income. But when I kept watching the show, I change my mind. Not all the illegal immigrants are the bad guys. They are all very kind, even they are not rich haven’t enough money; they will not do the crime. They will try all the way they can to earn the money. The mother in the family moved me. She started save money in the January just want to let her children get a Christmas presents. Even only a little will be saved in one day. But she adheres to do it. This mother’s love touches me. When Frank George went to the place which the Gonzalez family used to live, he was shocked. What a simple and crude house appeared in front of his eyes. At that moment I think he should know why the people want immigrate to the America. Because they have no money and no power to let the government immigrates legally. They only can walk a long trip to get America even they are illegal. They have the right to catch a better life, everyone can, like the words in the show’ no human beings are illegal.’ They should have a better life.

American Note

When I came to the America half years ago, I felt some nervous and exciting. Because it’s my first time to come a unfamiliar country by myself.’ I will be studying and living here for my college life.’ That’s what I thought when I came off the plane. This is really strange country for me. I didn’t use to live in the America at first, because this place is different to my homeland. There are not Chinese everywhere, you must speak English. There has different food and so on. When I came to the first class, I can’t even talk to the teacher. I am shy and didn’t use to use English to talk. I find that most of the classmates are the same to me. Yeah, you know, they are all Chinese. In our country, if the teacher is talking to the class, even you have any question you have to raise up your hand and then you can ask your question, and we don’t have a lot of communication with the teacher. But in America, in St.louis, you can have a lot of communication with the teacher. You can argue with them, you can share your opinion with them and so on. On class in china, if we want to the restroom, we have to rise up our hand and ask teacher for going to the restroom. You don’t saw it wrong, if we need do everything in the classroom, all we need to do is rising up our hands…

To sum up, I prefer the class in the America, because you can do whatever you want do in the class, here is more freedom, but the premise is the things must have the connection with the class :p

The Heroes Between America and China

The typical traditional American hero who I want to talk about is Bill Gates, who is creator of Microsoft. He is wisdom, brave and work very hard. http://www.biogs.com/famous/gates.html from this website, we can know that he started programming computers when he is 13 years old at the Lakeside school. At that place he met Paul Allen. After he entered Harvard University, he designed the programming language BASIC for the first microcomputer. They set up Microsoft in 1975. Before long he was potty about software and made it as keystone. Now Microsoft has been the most popular by using and the most famous software in the world.


Now in China, the most famous hero is Spring Brother which is the most popular between young people. Spring Brother became famous not very long, but all of the netizen respect him. A lot of people who don’t really know him think he is a woman, but in the fact he is a pure man!!! All of the netizen believe in Spring Brother. We have a saying:” Believe in Spring Brother and you respawn at the same location immediately after your death”. Even now, the netizen created an ecclesia for Spring Brother. If you believe in Spring Brother, you can even past any test you take!!!

Bill Gates promotes us the support in the high-tech, Spring Brother give us the support on the spirit. The similar is they both give us hope of life. I like Spring Brother better because I’m a Chinese and still a netizen!!! : )

Religion In Our Life and Defend Net Neutrality

In fact, not every Chinese have very strong religion in our life like American. Most of Chinese are believe in Buddhism, a little of us are also believe in God. Most Buddhist not always goes to cloister to pilgrimage. We will go to cloister at the special day, or if we have something that needs Buddha give us some directions. Some people who have strong believe in Buddhism maybe impetrate Buddha’s blessing in home every day. I am believed in Buddhism. In China, I am going to cloister to pilgrimage two or three times per year. I always curious about my fate… But I don’t know if I go abroad, will Buddha bless me? I think God won’t give Buddha visa :)
At http://www.cc.org/, one cause is “Defend Net Neutrality”. The meaning is a free network which service for the community, it can fit most people’s majority of equipment and use of the attachment mode and make it to be neutrality. It won’t decrease the service level for another communication. Its viewpoint is to make the net to be neutrality. It means treat all the net to be equal, so people can find what they really want.
I think the telecom companies just want make benefit from making the bundled service model more than its content or service for customer needs. Network neutrality is an important guarantee for the basic freedom by now.

What’s needed in American life is a redefinition of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. As Franklin understood, American will postpone immediate gratification and endure hard sacrifices if they are convinced the future can be better than the past. Collectively, Americans need to take a deep breath and reconsider what it means to be rich.


The American dream to everyone is different, but their deeply meaning is quite same. As the first website said, their American dream is about quality of life, environment and fairness. The second one is talking about the healthy life. The mean idea of third one is the healthier life than the past, to be rich. All of these three American dreams are not same. But in fact, all of them are about a better life, hope, and freedom. By the way, American dream is the thing everyone have different idea, but they are all the same thing.
